Privacy Statement
Appalachian State University complies with all provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). The full statement of the University's policy is available in the Registrar's Office. Students who wish to have Directory Information withheld should complete a request with the Registrar's Office.
Within the limits prescribed by FERPA, students have the right to inspect and challenge the contents of the information that the Reich College of Education Technology Resources and Services retains on them. This includes, but is not limited to, personal contact information and Reich College of Education account balances. To request this information, students should submit, in writing, a request to Dr. Terry McClannon, Technology Facilities Coordinator, with at least 24-hours notice.
All information is stored on secure servers and accessible only to personnel that are authorized to access it. The Technology Resources and Services Group does not sell, give away, or otherwise transfer personal information to any party outside of Appalachian State University without prior express permission of the individual or by court order.
